Chrome and Lilac Resolutions

HNY!

The first days of January are never a clean slate. They feel more like a soft recovery roll over from the end of December - a time to gather thoughts and ease into what’s next.

Not cha-cha-ing between the past's 'meh' moments and the future's 'what ifs.'
By rooting myself here -and now -, I can see the year ahead more clearly.
For 2025, I’m leaning on a representation from this color theme: red chrome and lilac.  Boldness and softness, contrast and harmony. This pairing feels like a visual guide for the kind of year I want to create ; vibrant yet grounded.

Showing Up

This past year, my emotions felt stretched thin-swinging between sadness and hopelessness, and moments of happiness, love, and excitement. In the midst of that emotional fatigue, I often questioned how to keep showing up creatively when the energy just wasn’t there.

A conversation with a brilliant and prolific creative director helped shift my perspective. He reminded me that creativity isn’t about waiting for inspiration or worrying that your creative power bank might run out. It’s about showing up- professionally, personally, creatively. Whether or not you feel inspired, the act of showing up ensures the work gets done, and often, brilliance follows.

That realization has stayed with me: consistency makes space for creativity to thrive.

More and Less Of

More showing up consistently.
Less waiting for perfect conditions.

More structured routines. Creativity isn’t an excuse for chaos. Sleep and regular habits are as crucial as inspiration.

More experimenting in new and revisiting the old mediums.
Fashion, 3D, and spraypainting even unexpected collaborations.

Less daydreaming, more real-time actioning.
( will still have the daydreamy concepts of course)

The Optimism of Goal-Setting

"Setting goals requires a kind of optimism that feels increasingly rare. You have to believe not only that the year ahead has potential, but that you do too."

Amidst the longer and shorter checklists and goal setting and system making, I feel it's less about the grand declarations or rigid resolutions- and more so about naming what matters and making space for it, knowing that the act of moving forward is enough.

So here’s to 2025: a little red chrome for bold moves, a little lilac for softer steps.
